Christmas 2002 was a White Christmas, as you can see from the photo at the top of this page. Getting to the White Christmas, however, was difficult. I left Atlanta on the Saturday before Christmas, heading to St. Louis for a party at Sid & Jo's house. A wreck on I-24 left the interstate closed at Clarksville, Tennessee, so I called Sid and got some rather vague direction around the wreck. More than two hours later, I advances a total of eight miles and made it to St. Louis around 7:00 pm. Still plenty of party time left, however, and we stayed up until 2:30 Sunday morning. The first few pages of photos in this album are from that party.

I went down to Bloomsdald on Sunday, and we had nice weather through Monday. Monday evening, heavy snow moved in and we had eight inches before it was over. Christmas Eve plans were cancelled, as were Christmas Day plans. My brother and sister and their families were able to make it down from St. Louis for the afternoon on Christmas Day, though. The rest of this album is filled with some photos of the snow, and from the family gathering on Christmas afternoon.

Luck was against me on the trip back to Atlanta the day after Christmas. Another wreck on I-24 left the southbound lanes closed at Chattanooga, but my trip was only delayed by an hour this time. On the bright side, I wasn't in either of the wrecks, and got to see both friends and family over the Christmas holiday. Next year, though, I think I'll fly!
